ReCap Will Not Import .pts files

Hi All,

Just getting my feet wet with ReCap.

I had some old laser scans in .zfs format.

The .zfs files came into ReCap just fine.

Now I just received some scan data in .pts format.

ReCap doesn't seem to want to read them in.

I get no errors or warnings, just a dead circle.

Any idead what the problem might be?

Thanks!!

I am also suffering from this problem. I am testing this software on an evaluation licence and have found this most frustrating, as it gives no indication of whether there is anything happeneing or not.

Sorry I can't help, but its good to know you are not alone.

PTS files can come in different versions.
Try to export to PTX, or another format.

We ran into this as well. There is no indication of if Recap is working or not; but we found if we waited eventually the file would pop in. We are using large files, so one import took over an hour; Windows Task manager showed Recap running, so we just left it. Autodesk does need to add something to show it is processing, like when it indexes or something. Good luck!

We have a project that is active construction and we continue to add in small PTS files to the Recap project.  When I bring in the next PTS, nothing shows up at first.  If I "reset" the limit box and zoom extents, the clouds appear.
