New, updated Photo on ReCap360 service, charging plan and new forum!

Hi all,

For those among you who are using or are interested in Photo on ReCap360, we have some important updates for you!

1. We recently launched a new update of Photo on ReCap360 with the following news and improvements:

NEW FEATURES
• GoPro support – use a GoPro white, silver and black Hero 3 camera with its wide angle fish eye lens to capture images over short distances from land, sea or air
• Mesh and texture display – display image-based 3D models in mesh or texture or combine the mesh view with full or flat shaded texture
• Smart cropping – limit a scene automatically to calculate only what is in front of the camera
• Bounding box – reduce the size of a project for faster processing by easily cleaning the surrounding environment in a scene
• Unit support – set measurement units of reconstructed scenes
• Gallery list view – preview a list of projects in the gallery view

ENHANCEMENTS
• Improved UI – enhanced usability of manual stitch, distance and survey points input
• Streamlined ReCap Pro workflow – survey points added to an imaged-based model now align automatically with survey points in a ReCap Pro model
• Simplified selection of mesh quality modes – reconstructions are now available in preview (draft) and professional (ultra) modes only

2. RENTAL PLAN NOW AVAILABLE

To date, Photo on ReCap 360 has been available as a limited time free trial. In early February, you can access our high quality, professional image-based 3D modeling Photo on ReCap 360 service with an annual rental license for $55 SRP. ReCap 360 rental plans are user specific, including the Autodesk 360 storage and cloud credit allocation. Starting today, you can sign up here http://www.autodesk.com/products/reca... to receive the following benefits:

• Ultra mode for creating professional-grade 3D reconstructions from up to 250 high-resolution photos. If you have a subscription on another Autodesk product, you automatically receive access to this feature as an entitlement. Draft mode for creating 3D reconstructions from up to 50 images and 12 MP in size is free to everyone.
• Export photo-realistic models in FBX, RCS and IPM (OBJ and RCM are free). With seamless support in Autodesk design and creation suites, Photo on ReCap 360 reconstructions can be used in 3D printing, 3D documentation and visualization, conceptual design, measurement and analysis, visual effects and asset creation workflows.
• 25G of Autodesk 360 cloud storage to support multiple 3D reconstructions concurrently. If you don’t have a subscription with another Autodesk product, a ReCap 360 rental plan provides you with the maximum amount of Autodesk 360 cloud storage available. If your storage needs exceed 25G, you can purchase an additional ReCap 360 rental plan or use a 3rd party storage service.
• 50 cloud credits for processing textured 3D mesh or photo-based point clouds created in ultra mode. A ReCap 360 rental plan includes 10 reconstructions at 5 cloud credits per construction. If you have a subscription with another Autodesk product, you can use your existing cloud credits to consume this service. If you need more cloud credits, you can purchase an additional ReCap 360 rental plan or 100 cloud credits from the eStore or a reseller.

3. NEW HOME FOR the Photo on ReCap360 FORUM
