Colour Scans sometimes appear B&W when stitching

Our team using ReCap have come across another weird issue. When registering full colour scans they sometimes come through and only show as Black and White when they stitch. We have checked the raw data and each scan has the colour image and associate files to toe this to the point data. Also once we create a unified scan everything seem fine. Anyone else come across this?

I guess this is not a hige problem, but on one job which was a complex factory (and the one time we didn't use markers) it was very hard to pin point certain features when the image was B&W (it also doesn't seem  crisp image, but almost 'misty') We have opened up the original scan image and its fine.

If you are importing a PTS file, you can manually set which columns are read as the RGB values. I have found that ReCap does not always automatically get RGB if the early rows in the PTS have those data missing.

Hi Justin,

Please check that you are using the latest version (1.3.2.500) - we fixed an issue a few months ago where the color would not be applied to FLS import in certain cases.  Specifically, if you saved the raw scan in SCENE without applying the color first, ReCap would think the color was already applied.  It should be fixed in the latest release.

If you're already on the latest and still seeing this problem, it would be great if you could share an example scan.

Ryan
