importing .PTS to create a Recap file with a limited number of points - missing

I wanted to share a solution about missing points when importing PTS file with a few points (20) into Recap.

every time we created a new Recap file and imported the PTS, 2 points were missing, even though I was tweaking the Decimation or clipping option.

points were listed in the import parameter tab, but not showing.

a workaround is to import the PTS, make a copy of the PTS and import that copy. all points are showing.

I hope that helps

That's interesting. Thank you for sharing!

I'm sure the community will appreciate your replay whenever they encounter the same issue.

From which product you were getting the PTS file before importing it in ReCap for the first time?

Thank you,

Mitko

I built the PTS myself from 20 points given by a site surveyor to check a thing.

the syntax of PTS is dead simple txt with space separated values and extension .pts:

syntax:

number of survey points (optionnal for Recap)

X Y Z INTENSITY(from -2047 to 2048) R G B

for example:

1

150.000 236.133 125.468 -100 255 0 255

Recap could read them easily

but it was not showing all the points (2 were missing)

upon doing a copy of the same PTS file and importing it in the previous recap it did the trick.
