fields & database greenhorns!!

HELP!!!
We have been using QC8 since it's inception and are very happy with it for our use. We are structural concrete (parking garages, bridges, piers) detailers. We detail members to be poured at a facility and shipped to a site to be erected and assembled.

The products we detail have standard hardware (steel plates, angles, threaded inserts, reinforcing bars, etc.)all with a texted base call-out or name.

Is there, anywhere out there, a DETAILED primer or set of STEP by STEP instructions for DATABASE NOVICES that will teach us how to use the database portion of the program.

Our intent is to isolate the cast-in hardware on an individual piece detail that will allow the program to count the hardware in our material section of that drawing and generate a report that we can then export to an Excel spread sheet to create an overall hardware count for a particular project.

We have been expermenting with the database functions but we are at this point profoundly ignorant in what we are doing!!!

doing!!!"...I would have to say, be profoundly ignorant in another program.
QuickCAD is useless & dead....& not necessarily in that order...!!!

Find something else in order for your system to work...ACAD LT2008 (just
released) would be adequate. However, if that's out of the ballpark try
http://www.progecad.com/ .....it's an LT clone and highly recommended...not
just because it's free.

You're wasting your time with QuickCAD....move on.
