i have the german version of 3ds max design 2012. Check my screenshot, i can't choose between any of the options. So i can't install geppetto...Is it only for the english 3dsmax (design)?
Succeeded by extracting the specific installer (design 2012 64 bit) and installing it. But there is no "People" tab in the Ribbon after the installation...
My first though is that it "expired"...? It is/was a labs thing so did you notice if there was an end date and if we are past it? On my way to look.

I can't speak to Geppetto being "dead" but I am not sure many use it so answers may not come. I was trying to help based on what I remembered and have not ever used it, just watched the video.

I just find it strange that a piece of software, even being in development, refuses to install...I mean, it even has it's own forum section and is around for a while now. Normal install doesn't work and extracting+installing it doesn't make it run. Then, nobody from the developers feels responsible to even answer here.
...Crapware? Sorry, but all this doesn't look like something from a big leading company, more like something from a part-time-coder.
PLZ, calm down...the developers are not required to be on/in here, as you know. I just downloded it and am now installing...I will let you know what I find.

Found the reason myself- Geppetto just installs into the "Autodesk"-folder, not the "Autodesk\3ds Max Design 2012"-folder...Had to manually cut/paste all folders to the right place, as there is no option during install to point to the correct location...
