How do I execute MEL script without lauching Maya?

Hi everyone,

I want to launch a very simple script that creates a poly cube, export it to .stl or .fbx from the command line. 

I have followed Start-Maya-from-the-command-line but Maya is always launched and it does not execute any script line !

I can do it in Python by using the Maya standalone module but it cannot handle exporting to other formats than .ma apparently

When trying to do this in Python using maya.standalone, did you make sure that the "fbxmaya" plugin was loaded?

Indeed, the plugin has to be loaded in standalone mode.
