AutoCAD 2015 crashes when trying to plot

I posted this in the general forum, but thanks to pendean for directing me into the correct direction, I'll post it here as well on the hopes of finding a solution.

Hello everyone,

I am the systems administrator in my school district. We are currently trying to get a master computer set up and ready for an image for this next up coming school year and have been having multiple issues. The most recent one has been plotting to our HP Design Jet T1200PS plotter. With AutoCAD 2014, AutoCAD Architecture 2014 and Inventor, everything plots to this device just fine. I plotted 3 drawing to it today using these machines with this version of software.

With the 2015 version that we installed from the Autodesk Instituions (ARC, academic resource center?) we get the software installed and set up properly for an image and one last check over with plotters is when we found this issue, and have spent the last week trying to find some sort of fix for it. We use a Novell client for our management and the Novell iPrint client to install the printer and drivers. We even connected this device via usb hard connection and the software still crashes randomly, mainly after the first successful plot. The program crashes when it sits at the screen "Sending plot to printer." Here is the crash error that displays when we try to plot to our device using the 2015 version of AutoCAD.

We have tried uninstalling and reinstalling AutoCAD and AutoCAD Architecture 2015. It still crashing every time we try to plot to this plotter, but when we send a print to our smaller office printer (HP laserjet 5200) it prints just fine using 2015.

As said before, 2014 AutoCAD and Architecture work just fine with the plotter, just not 2015. Is there a fix or something that needs to be done?

All the latest Windows 7 updates are installed as of 7/28/14. AutoCAD and Architecture 2015 service packs are installed. And the latest drivers and firmware from HP are installed for the plotter. Still works for 2014, just not 2015.

Specs:
Windows 7on Dell Precision WorkStation T3500

Software:

AutoCAD 2015
AutoCAD Architecture 2015
Autodesk Inventor 2015
Autodesk Revit 2015

Plotter:

HP Design Jet T1200PS

Driver- HP Designjet T1200ps PS3 (61.123.361.41)

Firmware- TT6-TTAJ_8.2.2.3 - 23 Jul 2012

Thank you for any advice or help!

This may be a solution for you to use a PC3 printer configuration? http://latitude-it.net/hp-designjet-plotter-drivers-and-windows-8/

This issue has not been resolved yet. Our AutoCad instructor went to an AutoCad convention in Vegas last month and was told to contact HP, that it is an HP issue.

I find this hard to believe, if everything works fine on our 1 computer we have using ACAD 2014 for the students to plot from. But still waiting on getting contact with someone from HP to help us out. Unless anyone else has any ideas.

Yesterday I went through and updated the entire labs AutoDesk Software. Updates and hotfixes for Cad, Architecture, Inventor, Revit, and 360. Going to try plugging the actual plotter into one of the lab machines via USB to try AGAIN to see if I can get plots without Crashes, since it crashes via Network plots. Though I believe the same result will happen, I will chime back in with my results this afternoon.

Thanks!

I had a simliar problem with HP plotters.

Can you try to figure out if i.e in AutoCAD the plotting works if you plot to a file instead of to the network port ?

If this work without problems you can think about use "autospool".

Let me know, then we can try the autospool configuration.

Hello once again, I tried again and the program still crashes. I was able to successfully get 2 full plots off using AutoCAD 2015 and AutoCAD Architecture 2015. But when I tried it again to (simulate) another student plotting a drawing, I finally started getting the crashes again.

I have updated all AutoDesk software yesterday using the AutoDesk Application Manager. And all Windows Updates have been installed as well.

Again this is the Plotter we are using. HP Designjet T1200ps PS3 (61.123.361.41)

This is the Driver I am using: HP Designjet T1200ps PS3

I can try using..HP Universal Printing PCL 6 (v5.6.0) if need be.

Again to recap, plotting works just fine on our computer we didn't image that has AutoDesk 2014 software on. This is what the students have been using this past semester to make their plots while I try and figure out a fix.

When trying to plot from AutoCAD 2015 using a CSET sheet size.

Crashed when it was rendering sheet for the drawing to be plotted.

Was going to \\iPrint\SH-RM611-HPDJT1200PS

Have you tried to use a plotter driver from Autodesk in AutoCAD. Try the following: This is also a 36 inch plotter. Try plot to file and plot directly to your network port and let me know what happened.
