How to Roll Back Your Design to an Older Version

Sometimes we make changes to our models that turn out to be the wrong choice, or just want to go back to an older version to make design modifications to it.  Here is how to easily do just that.

Step 1:  Click on the data panel button in the top left corner.

Step 2:  Find your model and click on the information button (1) followed by “Open details in A360” (2).

Step 3:  Click on the Versions button on the left hand side of the display.

Step 4:  Choose to Promote the version you’re interested in (1) and then click the Edit Design button (2) to launch it into Fusion 360.

cool idea but the requirement to do that through the web interface is annoying

I should be able to do this right within Fusion

When I try this there is no "promote" icon, the space is empty, all I have showing is the pencil icon next to the latest version.

Could you upload an image of what you are seeing?  Perhaps we are not looking in the same location.  I just checked on my side and it seems to be functioning.  Make sure to click on the clock looking symbol to the left to see the versions, and that there are more than 1 version saved! 🙂

Thanks,

Yep, looking in the same location.  I deleted the model I was trying to open at an earlier rev and just imported the dxf file fresh.  The new file has 4 saves and I now have the promote icon on versions 2 and 3 but not 1.  It's healed!!!

Other files show all versions with the promote icon.
