Design a bottle in 9 mins (video)

Here is a comparison I made between designing a bottle in Fusion 360 and designing a bottle in SolidWorks. You can clearly see the differences in the design process, and how much more intuitive it is for designers to create a concept bottle from scratch in Fusion 360.

What's striking to me is the difference in the UI of the two tools. I really like the "out of the way" approach of Fusion 360.

Are the recent versions of SolidWorks still similar? Why was 2012 chosen?

That SolidWorks tutorial was the closest one on YouTube that showed how to create a bottle under 10 mins, and it happened to be a 2012 version. There are a bunch of other SW tutorials out there that shows you how to make a bottle, and some are more detailed, but they are multi-part series that were 10-15 mins each.

My bad. I saw it mentioned in the beginning but forgot.

Any SolidWorks specialist here - how fast and easy could you draw a bottle? 😛

I could probably design a bottle in SolidWorks pretty darn quick since I've been using it since 1998. The real question is how rapidly can you model different versions of the same design and still have it look good. Fusion 360 wins that race I think.
