Set fields default Values back during clone

It would be really useful if the admin could set behavior for fields on clone. If i clone an item and want to carry over certain fields but not others. For example, if I have a fields for "close out comments" i would like that to ve set back to empty on the cloned item.

As an extra comment...

I know i can set the field value to null using an on create behavior script. What i would like is for the field to be null on the create screen. then if the users enters information it will be retained.
