Multiple sorting view

There should be an option to set more than one sorting options in the views. So first sort items by date and then by item number for example.

You have this in the report tool.

This would be especially useful in the Project Management Tab.

Being able to designate a sort field to both sequence tasks as well as group tasks would make managing tasks eaiser for a project manager. It gets a bit confusing when maintaining a schedule when the flow of the ghantt chart is dis-jointed.

I know that this can be partially achieved by putting like tasks in sub-projects and then roll them up in a master project. But even then you might want to sort the projects.

Alot of the power of PLM is the ability to use the linking items to manage those sub-Task Milestones and Workflows and have the project oversight visibility. This is where PLM beast Microsoft Project. That gets lost somewhat when great care needs to be exercised to properly sequence and add tasks to the PM tab so that they visually makesense, if that is all you want then MS Project can do that because you can drag n drop tasks to reorder them.

Hi adminplm360,

I might not understand your request completely.

Currently our "View" has the ability to set multiple filters that can help you with your sorting request.

First you create a filter based on the date - ranging from this week, last week, months and year.

Second you can create a filter by number, name, or item desrciptor to contain, start with, end with.

This can help refine your searching ability, plus you can have Multiple View based on your require needs.

I hope this will help you with your Multiple View.

Thanks,

Trung

In many places in PLM, you can click on a column heading to sort (e.g. workspace viewer, grid, BOM,etc.).  However, you can only sort on one column at a time.  It would be VERY useful to be able to sort on muptiple columns.
