Showing Thumbnails for Attachments with Firefox

Question: How do I configure Firefox to display thumbnails for attachments?

Answer: In PLM 360, each user profile is by default configured to show thumbnails for attachments.

 

However, to successfully show thumbnails for attachments with Firefox, Firefox application settings may need to be updated.

 

If you experience either one or both of the symptoms below, a configuration change is required in Firefox:

 

- Thumbnails for PDF attachments display as blank document

- When loading the attachments tab of an item, PDF attachments are either automatically opened in Adobe Reader or Open With dialog is displayed

 

To correct this, launch Firefox and navigate to Options > Applications > Select “Portable Document Format (PDF)” and change the value to “Preview in Firefox”.

A restart of Firefox is required for the setting to apply. All thumbnails for PDF attachments should now display correctly in Firefox.
