Paul,
It's been almost two years since your post. Did PLM360 meet your high expectations?
Robb
Hi Rob,
We did not keep PLM360 in the end. After 12 months of development work we (Halstock & Autodesk) realized that it just wasn't going to do what we wanted.
This was 8 months ago at time of writing, and I understnad that PLM360 has moved on a lot since then.
It turns out that what we wanted was more of an ERP tool, that we could use to help track billable time and capacity. My impression of PLM360 is that it is an excellent database tool, but that it isn't as good as Excel for calculations, and the project management module didn't allow us to go into enough detail.
We manufacture bespoke, one off items in the construction industry. Our process is design intensive, but we only manufacture once.
My impression is that PLM360 is an excellent fit for mass production manufacturers who want to track items they have already designed through the supply, manufacturing and distribution process.
Is that helpful?
If you have any questions - let me know,
Paul
