Ok, I had build 17.0.700.4 installed and it worked. I've now downloaded the latest version from the subscription site, uninstalled the old version and installed this latest build.
However, now the PLM 360 360 Sync options entry doesn't appear in the Vault Tools menu. I've started the Service etc, but still no joy. I've uninstall the lastest build and rolled back to the old one, but now that one doesn't work anymore either. I made sure I deleted the PLM 360 Sync folder in the program files folder before each install.
What am I missing or is this a bug with my install? Is there a dll hidden somewhere or registry entry I should delete?

Hi Scott,
There are DLLs and a config file in the folder [c:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Vault 2013\Extensions\Autodesk.Plm.VaultSync.ConfigExtension\] in addition to those found in [c:\Program Files (x86)\Autodesk\PLM 360 Sync\]. Have you also deleted those?
Also, does the service have to be started manually after the boot or is it automatic?
Best regards,
Scott - I have an older version as well - I'l uninstall and reinstall and document any issues.
Michelle

None of the above have worked I'm afraid to say. Also even though the Service is set to Automatic, its not starting with this build either. I have to manually start it... although a running service does not maketh a functioning addin..
What to do? Which registry settings do you want me to delete/change?

The solution was kindly supplied by Thomas Rambach via good old Twitter, I've added it to my blog post, so check it out if you need to:
