Hi,
I am seeing thumbnails for image attachments (e.g. jpegs) but not for PDF files. Are there any specific criteria for PDF files in order for a thumbnail to be displayed?
David.

Hello David,
PDF files are not able to be viewed as a thumbnail. They can be uploaded to the Attachment tab and then opened as needed.
It sounds like you have a business need for this feature. Please post this to the PLM 360 Idea Station to potentially be included in a future update.

Hi John,
I'm not sure if this is correct. I've uploaded multiple PDF files now. Some of them appear with a thumbnail, some dont. I need to know what the difference is between the files.
See attached
David.
My appologies, I had an image field in my head and you are talking about thumbnails in the Attachments tab.
I have had the same result that one PDF is displaying and one is not. Let me do some research and get back to you.
John
Hi John,
The thumbnails are in the attachments tab (see attached). Where else can thumbnails be displayed?
David.
Hi David,
Thumbnails can be done with in the items page by using an image field, but this is restricted to standard images (jpg, png for example.), but are not dwf or pdf compliant at this time.
Thanks Joe,
Any idea why some PDFs are displaying and some aren't? I've looked to see if its some issue to do with PDF versions and whether its enabled for 'Fast Web View'. There doesn't seem to be any relationship I can spot.
David.
Hi David,
PDF's have a size limitation of 248k to generate a thumbnail in PLM 360.
Documentation explaining this is being created for the PLM 360 WikiHelp.
Thanks again for pointing out this issue.
John
Hi David,
You cannot increase the limit for a PDF thumbnail on the Attachments Tab from the frontend of PLM 360. If you have a business need to have the limit increased, can I suggest that you post the request to the AutodeskPLM 360 IdeaStation for review by the PLM 360 Development Team to potentially include this change in a future update of the product.
