Is it possible to add an attachment to a closed item?

Is it possible to add an attachment to a closed item, i.e. a picture of a building to be added six months after the build is completed?

Depending on the use case there are two ways to accomplish this.  A new workflow state specifically for adding this attachment can be added allowing the edits to be made.  A permission is available to “Override workflow locks” allowing edits to be made to locked items, or finally, in the case of an image file.  A section can be added to an item that allows for edits even when it’s locked, (check box on section setup).  Placing an image type field in this section will allow for the modification of fields in this section any time.
