How to edit a matrix once it is created

Hello Team,

Do you know how i can edit columns titles in a matrix once it has been created and moved in section?

This is apparently not working, i tried in explorer and in chrome but with the same result, i cannot save my changes.

Don't i have any other option than to delete and restart my matrix completely? This sounds like a bug to me.

Thanks

Hello,

I was just able to change the column titles in a matrix without issue.  This matrix was already configured and moved to the Item Details Fields section.  Can you give me the exact steps you are following along with the error that you are seeing?  After you deleted the Matrix and recreated it do you still see the same behavior?

Hello John,

I did not delete the matrix yet as i was hopping i could find a solution.

In my Workspace set up under the Item Details Fields, i locate my Matrix field (which is in green).

I click on the pen to edit it, i edit the columns titles ( i have 2 columns in my Matrix) and click Close.

Then i do Save layout. Nothing happens. No successfull message or error message.

I then go in my form to check the changes but they are not there.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Sergio

Hi Sergio,

Your steps in changing the column or row name are correct.  Once you get back to your record it is already saved.  Have you tried clicking the edit button or checked the results when you create a new record?

Yes, i tried to create a new form but the columns titles are still not correct.

I will re-create my Matrix i think.

Thanks

Please let us know if you recreate the matrix and continue to see issues.  I've been working on a project where I make similar changes to multiple pre-existing matrix configurations daily and it has been consistently working for me.

Hello,

I actually discover why i could not save my edited matrix. Actually this issue happens sometimes when trying to edit the Workspace layout.

The workaraound is to delete the Workflow Notification Fields and then you are able to save your changes.

The Workflow Notification Fields will then re-appear automatically next time you open the Item Details Tab.

This seems as a bug. I experienced it in both IE8 and Chrome and my co-workers did experience it too.

You might want to dig into this as im sure other users will experience the same problem.

Thanks

Sergio

Hi Sergio,

I have not been able to duplicate the issue you are describing.  Could you possibly send me a short video with the steps you are taking when you see this problem?
