Cannot upload attachment after change ownership

Hi Support Officer,

I was a request owner, I input the information and performed attachment but later I found that I need to change owner to my colleague. The problem we face was that although now he is the owner but he cannot upload or edit the attachment in the attachment tab? Does that ownership ability stay with the creator of the item ?

Really appreciate if you can give some advice on how we can overcome this.

Thank you very much.

Beest regards,

Carol Mak

Hi Carol,

Can you check that specific user's permissions on the Role associated with that workspace?  The Attachments Permissions include:

  • Add Attachments
  • Delete Attachments
  • Edit Attachments
  • View Attachment History
  • View Attachments

Take a look and let me know if adding the specific permissions helps you with this issue.

Regards,

John

Hi John,

The user was already given the listed permission.

Feel free to feedback if you need further information.

Thank you very much for looking into this.

Best regards,

Hi Carol,

Can you make sure the Role that has the Attachment Permissions is associated with a group that includes your specific user?

In my own tenant I am able to change the owner and still have the ability to upload attachments so I'm still think the issue resides in Users/Groups/Roles.

Regards,

John

Hi John,

I understand where I made a mistake. When the requester change owner to another user, the state was at the approval state, that is when only the approver can make changes. Happen that the original requester was also the approver, that was why changes can be made to the attachment but the new owner cannot. I should have change ownership to my colleague before I put the request through for approval. Apologies for the confusion that was caused.

Thank you very much for your time and effort in following up on this case.

Best regards,

Carol
