Bug with Workflow Comments

Just wanted to share a bug we ran into on our tenant.  This morning Marty didn't even see the workflow comments UI when he tried to use a transition called "PE Note".  He had the transition available, and I confirmed that the transition required comments to be entered.  I had recently been working on changing Marty over from an older PLM account called "telljody" to a newer PLM account called mduffett@greenpnt.com

Below is a transcript of what happened over Jabber and Lync because I found it entertaining and informative.  If anybody has any insight on this I would love to hear it.  Enjoy!

Marty Duffett   I don't have some of the same authorities under the mduffett@greenpnt.com as I did under telljody.  I can "select" the PE_NOTE option, however no box shows up that allows me to actually fill in a note.  I really need this as quickly as possible.  URGENT!!! 6:13 AM

If I had changed the dropdown back to "Select a Workflow Action", it wouldn't have done this.  This is what makes me think that there's a hiccup between Selecting I want to enter a PE Note and the next step in the programming.

unfortunately that piece isn't GTI programming.  I will want to capture this and send it to Autodesk.  But.  I think we should be able to get PE notes working regardless

That change happened, I got a new computer yesterday, and my computer mysteriously rebooted itself last night.  So what might have caused it is up in the air.

i looked at the config in PLM and that hasn't changed at all, and your permissions between the two accounts are identical

After having him log in to PLM on my machine and finding the same issue was happening, I make my way back to my desk and start tweaking security.  Then we switch back to Jabber

Michael Pares   I should have kept you logged in on my machine so I could test.  When you get back please humor me and try it again.  I tried resetting your permissions and I double checked what Dan Harber's permissons are.  He added PE notes today and he has the same permissions as you. 9:29 AM

when i deleted your old account i didnt remove it from the groups

9:56 AM the permissions for PE note are given to a specific group 9:56 AM i think PLM was just using the first account that it found in the group and then didn't know how to handle the fact that it was deleted. 9:57 AM removing your deleted account from the group resolved the issue 9:57 AM
