strange xdata

does anybody here know what 3rd party program registers the applications
"ams_time" and "ams_pause"? On a few of our projects, we get these audit
errors in AcDbRegAppTableRecord: "ams_time" XData format problem. (and also
for ams_pause).

This problem has crept into a few projects of ours & once it is in a project
it spreads like a virus because of xrefing. Yes, I know we should always
audit external drawings before we use them, but it is difficult to control
150+ CAD users...

This data causes audit errors, crashes & generally miserable users and I'm
trying to determine it's origin so we can squash it.

Would Advanced Microsystems happen to be your AutoCAD reseller?

No, they are not. Do you think this is where it is coming from? Do you know
where I can get more information? Searching for Advanced Microsystems on
Google did not yield any relevant links.

One of my customers had some problems with their applications,
although it wasn't anything like this, and I do know they use
APPIDs with the prefix "ams_". Just a hunch.

Have you been able to determine if the problem appids are
coming in drawings from outside the company? If not, then
you could do a binary search of all customization files for
the application names.

I haven't been able to confirm it, but I'm pretty sure there is nothing in
house that registers those ID's. Definately nothing I've written - we do
have a few 3rd party applications, although none of them make sense to have
the "ams_" prefix. Any idea where I can find more info on Advanced
Microsystems or their applications?

I tried a web search and came up empty. I'll have to
give a call to the customer to find out more.
