RealDWG 2015 3d solid writing add Extended Entity Data

Hello,

We have a RealDWG host application that we have just updated from RealDWG 2014 to 2015, and we have noticed a behavior change, that seems odd.

The AcDb3dSolid::createBox method now creates a 3d solid with additional extended entity data attached to it:

Command: XDLIST
Select object:
Enter application name <*>:
* Registered Application Name: ACAD_STEPID
* Code 1071, 32-bit signed long integer: 1
Object has 16375 bytes of Xdata space available.

It seems that AutoCAD 2015 does not do the same with the BOX command, so why does RealDWG, and is it avoidable?

Thanks,

Regan

Hi Regan,

ACAD_STEPID is created when you add a solid through API and is incremented each time a new solid is created in a database.

This is also created when you add a solid through API from an AutoCAD plugin.

I am not sure about how AutoCAD uses it internally, but this is an intentional change in 2015.

Regards,

Balaji
