WMF Images on Dialogs

We are beginning the process of migrating from vba to vb.net. Many of our existing applications employ wmf images of symbols on dialogs. The wmf format provides the necessary image quality. The picturebox control in the vb.net dialogs does not appear to allow wmf images and bmp, jpg, png, etc. images do not provide the image quality required. Is there another method by which we can utilize the wmf files or achieve a much greater image quality with the other formats? Any help would be gratly appreciated.

I am able to display a WMF in a picturebox (VS2005). The extension
shows up on the list in the IDE when you choose the [...] in the Image
property.
