Which version of VS.Net is best?

I've recently entered the .Net world and I'm wondering if I should purchase
VS.Net 2003 or 2005? I know there are a few issues with 2005 Beta 2 but I'd
like to hear from the "seasoned veterans".

If I'm going to spend a chunk of cash, which version should I get for
developing with AutoCAD and Inventor?

You can't spend a chunk of cash for 2005 because it is not for sale yet. When it is released, Nov 7 or so, I would say there should be no doubt in your mind but to purchase or upgrade to it. Also with 2003 you don't have to mess around making sure your users have the .NET 2.0 Framework installed and up to date. Of course November is just mere daze away.

Give SharpDevelop[1] a shot before you go out and buy VS.NET. It's free and
it might fit your needs quite nicely.

I guess my real question should be: are there going to be compile or run
issues if I choose to buy VS.Net 2005 when it is released? I have problems
with the layer dialog and the project flyout in ACADE right now and I have
to modify the acad.exe.config file every time I want to test an application.

So, is VS.Net 2005 going to be fully supported and work fine on ACAD 2006
and inventor 10 when it is released?
