VB.NET books for AutoCAD

A co-worker has found book on programming AutoCAD 2007 and 2008 with VB.net. Has anyone seen or bought this book? If this one isn't the best, is there other books I should be watching out for? The main reason I'm asking is Chapters/Indigo and Amazon have no info about this book and I don't want to drop $50 online for something that doesn't exist.

Details:
http://www.vbcad.com/showabook.asp?BOOKID=5
VB.NET Programming for AutoCAD Customization - Level 1
ISBN: 978-1-892131-10-2
List Price: $59.95

Thnks in advance,

Jim.

really a good book.... starting from zero level you need a good knowhow on vb.net, then Jerry take you to the goal with many samples.
I bought the book on Tuesday on Amazon and on friday I was reading the book in my office (US to Italy less than 3 days!!). The author labeled the book with Level 1. We are waiting for Level 2. 😉

Jerry,
more or less the same topic, I got the book from VBCAD in september and I'm still waiting for the 4 hours tutorial in the disc.
A part from that, I've read the book and found excellent, together with Joe Sutphin's book on VBA for AutoCAD, I think it's the best developer's guide for AutoCAD!
Waiting for the upgrade to "Level 2".

I second those thoughts. Jerry's AU class on VB.net was probably the best
class I took this year, too. He uses a custom program he wrote to highlight
things in a way that makes the material easy to follow. I wish he had been
runing the MS Media Encoder or another similar program like Camtasia to
record his narration and screen in video format. That would have taken care
of about 2 hours of tutorials, at an excellent quality.

Regards from Los Angeles,

Emmanuel

I just ordered this book and seems pretty good. But unfortunately nobody shipped it yet. I called the phone provided at vbcad.com and nobody answered.
So my question is:
They are legit or not?

I ordered mine from Amazon and it took about six weeks.

Several months back, I ordered my book and recieved it within a week. I do know that Jerry has been working hard on a second book (more details about autocad), but have no idea what is keeping that back (possibly the differences in AutoCAD 2009's API).

Interesting reading peoples experiences with Jerry Winters (www.vbcad.com).

I too was v. impressed with his lectures (d/l via AU online) and decided to order the non-printable version of the latest (ACAD2010) ebook in Nov last year.

I emailed Jerry to find out how to register, so I could d/l the code snippets and get the free online training, mentioned in the ebook.

He eventually replied apologising and offering to send a free copy of the book if I provided an address, which I thought was very generous, so this I did.

I've since heard nothing. No reply to my emails and still not able to d/l the snippets or access the supposed free on-line training. Pity his customer service isn't as good as his obvious knowledge and lecturing abilities.

Thought I'd just post an update to my previous post since I have now received a copy of Jerry's book, for which I am extremely grateful. Thanks Jerry.
