vb 2005 and _MAPEXPORT Function

I am trying to get to the MAPEXPORT function in AutoCAD 2004 from VB 2005 to automate the creation of ESRI Shapefiles. I need to create 15 or so shapefiles every 1st of the month from newly queried autocad files and would like to bundle this in a nice VB exe file.
Can someone tell me how to get to the _MAPEXPORT functions from VB?

Thanks.
Brian

AcadMap does not expose MAPExport COM API, so If you use AcadMap2004, you
are out luck. I do not know AcadMap2005, if you use AcadMap2006 or 2007, you
can use AcadMap's Map ObjectArx .NET API to do the map importing/exporting
programatically, using VB2005 or VC# 2005. Since trhat is ObjectARX
application, you can only run it inside AcadMap, not from a stand-alone EXE.

I did find that I can use (command "MAPEXPORT" 'export type' 'save location and name' 'USE PROFILE YorN' 'Profile Location if Y' "PROCEED") from the command line and it works.
So I am going to give it a shot using SendCommand.

I have map2006 and 2007 so I will take a look at those.
Thanks.
