Transfer XRecord to block definition

I have simple drawings which I INSERT into more complex drawings. The simple drawings have some extra info stored in an Xrecord in a DBDictionary in the NamedObjectDictionary. What I want to do is transfer a copy of the Xrecord to an ExtensionDictionary on the BlockTableRecord of the block definition.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
