Your best bet would be to ask in the VBA newsgroup, because from another
process, you must use the ActiveX API to control AutoCAD. Also look for
examples using a VB6-based standalone process.
This newsgroup focuses on the managed API for AutoCAD, which cannot be used
from another process.

Hello All,
I'm new to automation of AutoCAD. I've fruitlessly searched high and low for
an example of how to connect to AutoCAD and create some simple drawing
entities from a stand-alone VB.NET (2008) program. All examples I see are of
utilities that are imported into AutoCAD and used within the parent
application.
From the click of a button on a form, I wish to open a visible instance of
AutoCAD and create a spline and a series of reference circles (dimensions
can be hard-coded to start out). If anyone can point me to a simple sample
app that demonstrates how to accomplish some of these tasks, I would greatly
appreciate it.
Best regards,
John
