Polyline Type Usage

AutoCAD Mad 3D 2007...

I am creating polylines using the api (Polylines type not Polylines or Polylines). My users are adding addition polylines to my project (these are Polylines type).

The functions I develop now need to support two types of polylines instead of just one.

My question is should my code only create polylines of type Polylines or should my users only create polylines of type Polylines?

Isn't the polyline type Polyline the most optimized?

Isn't the polyline type Polyline (i.e. lightweight) the most optimized?
