Performance of this Site

Hi,

I have serious performance troubles with this site any forum, in any browser IE11 Chrome and Firefox, I wonder if it's just me or there are others with the same problem. Also Firefox  keep bombing me with an annoying message about security.

For me this site has never been performant   .... even though that may not be a real word.

Chrome, Win7 Ult x64, Cable, 16 MB ram

Don't get me started on the code display pane 😞

Everything will work just as you expect it to, unless your expectations are incorrect.

Installer Fiddler and check out the traffic. Navigating to the .NET forums page used about 310 separate http fetches, mostly pre-fetching forum previews.

I reloaded the page (clearing the cache) and it was about 375 fetches, the 1st 70 or so before it started pre-fetching the previews (which should be fetched dynamically on hover).

Three Hundred and Seventy-Five http gets. W T F. Well, at least the expiry on some stuff is sensible.
