Main block references

I am stepping thru the block table record of the model space and retrieving all of the objectids of block references.

my question what is the process to determine which block references are the top level.
That is i do not want the block references that are nested in another block reference

any help would be much appreciated

thanks

pat

The only block references in model space are 'top-level' block references.

Nested block references are in the block table record of the block which a reference is nested in.

I had over 200 blocks being return and some items were not behaving as it should and i wanted to eliminate this possibilty
