Hi All,
I have a master floor plan comprising many attached Xref units. Inside each unit on the master plan has been placed a block with some attributes (Unit Number, Unit Type, etc). We need to extract data from the instances to Excel or Access. So far it is all straight forward. However the block attribute.Unit Number is really the primary key. Does anyone have an idea for associating/linking a particular block with a specific Xref instance?
My idea at the moment is to write Xdata to the Xref instance that matches the Unit Number, then when processing, get all blocks, and find the attribute Unit Number that matches the Xref Xdata, then get the rest of the attributes. Extending this idea with a bit of rework, I think add all the fields to the Xref instance Xdata, then generate and populate the attribute blocks from each Xref instance, and simply process all the Xdata for the export. Leave the attributed blocks for the printed info.
Anyone got another suggestion?
Kinds regards, Dale
