I am assuming your using the DWG To PDF.pc3 Plotter.

If so, what version of AutoCAD are you running. I've had problems in the past using this plotter in 2009 with thick lineweights, but that has since been fixed in 2010.

Unfortunately I haven't had the luxury of dealing with Adobe stuff.
If there isn't anything under it's settings thats obvious and you are plotting the correct pen settings/thicknesses than I would suggest taking a look on the Adobe forums.

Hi Divya, I have done some work with AutoCAD 2006 and printing .dwg files using Adobe PDF - I think the problem stems from scaling lineweights (or not scaling them - I forget which).

If this doesn't help you, I'll try and dig out the vba code we used for it.

We see this in DWF and PDF when the page size is being shrunk. For example,
if you plot a 24x36 layout to 11x17 PDF or DWF, all weights are too thick.
The options are:
1. don't shrink the page - create PDF and DWF at the same page size (eg.
24x36)
2. create a new layout with the layout page size set to the same size as
your PDF or DWF needs to be

Scale lineweights might work - I have never tried it.

Here's what I do, if it helps.
Create pdf and/or dwf to full size, ie 22 x 34, for us. Print on 11 x 17 at a scale factor of 50% for reductions. This way they are still to a scale.

Scale lineweights, scales ALL lineweights down to the same scale, ie all lines are the same thickness, skinny.

if you're using the Adobe PDF System printer (and not a pc3 file), then why not try a different PDF engine - I've used PDF Creator for years and it works well.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/

the other question would be if you are using color tables or styles for your lineweights. i've always used color tables (.ctb files) and have had no problems with making PDFs from DWGs.

Copy the worksheet and open a fresh CAD window and paste it on the new window.

that should solve it.

hi,divyasree
i am looking forward the plot method using 'adobe pdf.pc3', could you kindly send me your code then i can study from you.
you know, we usally want to create pdf file without showing the 'save pdf' dialog and directly using the program define file name and file path, if this can be realize, we can plot dwg silently, that's a great thing!

Mine worked.. lines turned to their normal lineweights, when I "UNCHECKED" the "scale lineweights" box just above the Apply to layout button on the Print setup.Cat Very Happy

Hope this may work to all same cases!
