Hi everyone,

(Sorry for my english, I'm french :smileywink: )

I just finished my application .NET which run perfectly on AutoCad 2014. Now, I want to launch it on tablet and I would like to know how it works. I'm trying to make a POC (Proof of concept) to see if it's possible to implement.

For launch the application, I need:
- Two .dll files
- One .SDF file (SQL Server Compact 4.0) for the database

So, I would like to know if it's possible to launch it on a tablet. I heard about AutoCad 360 but it seems like I can't run any .dll.

Can you guys give me some advices or tips ?

I await your reply,

Max

Well, if your tablet runs AutoCAD 2014 (Windows Vista/7/8), then you are OK. The only tablet on the market that is capable to run AutoCAD as desktop application is MS Surface Pro, which is no different from a Windwos desktop/laptop machine, in terms of running AutoCAD.

...and I believe it's not just any Surface. It would have to be the Surface running the Windows 8.1 operating system as I don't believe the Windows RT OS will run desktop applications.

I DID say 'Surface Pro", which runs Windows 8.x, not Windows RT.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your answers. :smileyhappy:

I understood that I'll need Windows 8 or 8.1 and not RT.

I've look about some tablets and I found severals:

- Dell

+ XPS One and Ultrabook XPS 12

- Windows

   + MS surface pro

- Asus

   + Asus VivoTab

Norman why did you say that "The only tablet on the market that is capable to run AutoCAD is Ms surface" ? The XPS One seems to be a good one too (I'm talking about features). Maybe I'm wrong...

Have a nice day,

Max

this depends on the os, and i do not think it would be a good idea to run autocad on a tablet, which would consuming your resources immediately.

I'm running visual studio pro, autocad 2014, and inventor 2014 and a host of other software on a surface pro without any issues but I'm not doing any heavy cad work with it, just programming.
