Basically I want to select a text style in the drawing and create lines for the text I'm trying to create. The text is inserted as a label, and cannot be used as a text object because when you create a 2d elevation in Architecture, it ignores all text and dimensions. I found one solution that uses the systems TrueType fonts to create lines, but it creates and outline of the text a the text appears blurred (when zoomed out) and is much harder to read that the AutoCAD thin line fonts.
Is there a way to use the AutoCAD font style to generate text geometry?
Does Express Tools->Explode Text do what you want?
I don't know the details of how that tool works, but it might be a good place to start.
I think it does do what I need(don't have it installed), but I need it to happen as part of my addin. So if I had the code example for that tool that would help me out.
It exports a wmf file of the selected text, then reimports it. The COM API's Database.Export() Database.Import() functions handle wmf; not sure about .NET.

I don't see Export and Import on the .Net database object. I'll have to see if there is a way to call the COM functions from .Net.
