How to make many block references all the same size?

I have several block references in a drawing that I imported from other DWGs using the Database.readDwgFile() method. They're all rectangularly shaped, and I want them all to be the same width. I can scale them using the BlockReference.ScaleFactors property, but it's unclear what values to use to make their widths the same.

Is there another way to set a BlockReference's width and height?

A block is simply a collection of geometry with scale factors and a rotation angle. Width and Height don't really apply.

If you create your block as a 1unit by 1unit square, then the X and Y scale factors will correspond to width and height.

Did you figure this out?  I have a bunch of individual drawings that I want to insert as blocks.  They are all different sizes at the moment and I would like to resize them to make them all the same size, especially when I insert them as blocks.  My best bet is to use a lisp routine and/or script file, but my coding skills are not up to par with this challenge.  Any help is much appreciated.
