How to make an automation work in both AutoCAD 2008 and 2009?

Hi,

I wrote an automation application base on AutoCAD2009, now I need to make it work for AutoCAD 2008. Does any way to make a application work for both 2008 and 2009 instead of compiling to two applications?

Thanks

Maggie

In your VS 2005 project you can remove the AutoCAD 2009 references from the project and add AutoCAD 2008 references, compile it and it should work in both versions. After you compile your app test it in both versions of AutoCAD. You might miss some of the functionality from 2009 but it probably won't matter too much, depending on what your trying to achieve. I have a C# NET app that works this way, built with AutoCAD 2008 references and it loads and works in AutoCAD 2008 & 2009.
