How to determine which Layer is an Entity on?

Hi everyone,

I'm starting to migrate some code I had on COM Interop on .Net to a managed DLL to run within AutoCAD and it's been harder than the Interop which was very straightforward! I can't seem to be able to get from an Object on which layer it is. It is to perform a simple check of whether any object is on Layer "0" or not. 

BTW is there any good reference for how to make managed DLLs? The Developer Guide is as good as nothing and seems like even the simplest task is heavily complicated using this method.

Entity.layer or Entity.layerId properties? Seems pretty straightforward to me.
