Help on Starting .NET

I downloaded the AutoCAD 2007.NET training file. In the PPT, slide 38, Loading .NET assembly, shows a bunch of registry entries. Can someone explain why are these needed. I created a test assembly and loaded it using NETLOAD, everything seems to be ok, no registry entries added. I don't know why are these entries required or its benefits.
