DwgThumbnail.ocx

How do you get DwgThumbnail.ocx listed on the controls list so you can drag it on to a form in VB.net I have used it in VBA with no problems. I used Regsvr32 to register it. any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

In the VB.net Editor you go to tools -> choos toolbox items-> Select the Com tab and select Autocad Drawing thumbnail control.

I've manually registered the DwgThumbnail.ocx manually and when I go to add it, I get an error that says:
"Self-Registration for C:\Program Files\Autodesk\ADNAutoCADUtilities_x64\AutoCADControls\DwgThumbnail.ocx failed."

Is there a different way to register this? This is the first time I've tried to add something into VB.NET.

Yes, that's your ADN subscription fees at work.

Look into the shell's IExtractThumbnail and related interfaces, as it is not
terribly hard to get thumbnails for any file type that provides them using those
APIs, and without having to rely on buggy, unsupported 'bonusware'.
