C# .NET API for DWF Publishing in ACAD2008, ACA 2008, MAP 3D 2008

Hello,

I would like to export / publish to DWF 2D and mainly 3D the following categories of
entity information :

1. Database Data linked to ACAD entities through DBconnect
2. Object data or Database linked data attached to ACAD entities
in MAP 3D
3. Extended entity data attached to entities (EEDs)
4. Any normal entity properties like area, perimeter, color, Layer etc
5. Dictionary data attached to autocad entities (XRECORDS)
6. Special Data of ACA 2008 objects and their properties not
necessarily through the property set mechanism
(many are not exposed to it) for example the number of
openings in Space objects and the number or the area of
subsurfaces in a 3D Space object extruded or freeform !

and additionally

7. hook into the Publishing process and present new metadata
selection functionality to the user adding controls to
PublishOptions dialog

I see that there is an example in the ObjectARX 2008 kit

........objectarx_2008_32bit\samples\reactors\DWFMetaData.........

but unfortunately in C++ and therefore not useful for me; I have never programmed
in C++. In the DotNet folder, I can't find any comparable to this in C#.

In the ARX managed class reference, a PUBLISHING API Documentation can be found
but only methods and properties are described without any practical example of
HOW to DO Things, how to use all the publishing managed Stuff.

My question is !!!!

Is it possible to accomplish tasks 1-7 by using solely the C# .NET API of AutoCAD 2008 and verticals like ACA 2008 and MAP 3D 2008. ????
Is it possible to accomplish anything of 1-7 in Visual Lisp through Activex and COM ?

If yes, could you please provide Documentation and code examples of how to proceed
in C# (or Vlisp) ????

Any suggestions to existing commercial applications doing 1-7
would be appreciated !!!

Thanks
Konstantin

Those are a lot of questions....

Have you read what they have in the Developer Center? for each of their
products, they have a description of what can be used to develop on each of
the products.

www.objectarx.com
or the same as the above:

Hi Luis,

thanks for your response and suggestions.
I had already been through the ARX stuff and website
as well as through the samples and found nothing in C# .NET

I am still hoping to get SOME answers from Autodesk or experienced developers.
After all being able to develop using Autodesk modern APIs like
C# , should be a major concern especially for Autodesk !!

Anyway thanks again
Regards
Konstantin

From what I have been able to piece together AutoDesk has no intention of producing .NET wrappers for the DWF apis. I would think that if they were they would have already done so. It seems DWFx is going to be all the rage.

... and of course i may be wrong ...
