Axdblib (ObjectDBX Common 17.0 Type Lib) is missing or corrupt

Arghhhhh.... I had this working yesterday morning. I added the two com references (AutoCAD and AXDBLib) into my VS2005 project and everything was working fine. I ran Inventor for the first time and went back to my project. Now my project will not compile because the Autodesk.AutoCAD.Interop.Common reference could not be found. I deleted and referenced the AXDBLib again and now I have a little ! next to it. Looking at the properties, this reference has no path? I uninstalled AutoCAD and reinstalled. It worked until I ran Inventor again. Any ideas on what is going on? I looked in the GAC and found these two interops but they were version 16 (2006) and I need 17 (2007).

Thanks,
Tom

This has been a common problem with side-by-side
installations of AutoCAD and Inventor. They step on
each other's ObjectDBX COM registration.

Autodesk is fully aware of it, but doesn't seem to
consider it to be important, so I wouldn't expect to
see a fix any time soon.

Thanks Tony. Do you know of any easy workarounds? I created a project and referenced in the assemblies, marked them as copy local. I plan to keep a copy of these .net assemblies somewhere else and reuse them instead of referencing the com objects directly every time. Any ideas on whether this will work.

Thanks,
Tom

Sorry, I haven't learned of any easy workarounds,
so I would try what you are doing and see if that
works.

Unfortunately, Autodesk still doesn't know how
to distribute products that do not interfere with
other products.
