AutoCAD Mechanical 2012 BOM Settings and Visual Studio Express

Is there a way to access the BOM settings using a .NET API application.  I have over 400 drawings I need to go in and update BOM settings (add an additional column and display prompts).  I have dug through .NET Developers Guide but can't seem to locate an example that would allow me to do this.  Any ideas or links that might be helpful?
