Hi ,

How can i make a silent install package for navisworks freedom 2010?
is there any documentation for creating a redistributable install.?

The PC's i will be distributing the program to already have msxml and MS C+++ 2005 and 2008.
all i need to install is the nlsdl and the program itself

the command line i have used that worked with freedom 2009 is

msiexec /qn /i "\\%z_drive_server%\%z_drive_path%\app\Autodesk NavisWorks Freedom 2010\x86\NAVFREE\freedom.msi" TRANSFORMS="\\%z_drive_server%\%z_drive_path%\app\Autodesk NavisWorks Freedom 2010\x86\NAVFREE\freedom.mst" ALLUSERS="2" /m MSIVOUIE

however after the program is installed and launches it crashes with some C++ errors

can anyone assist

thanks

Worked it out ...

it needed the language pack before it would work

msiexec /qn /i "\\%z_drive_server%\%z_drive_path%\app\Autodesk NavisWorks Freedom 2010\x86\NAVFREE\en-US\NAVFree_LP.msi"

Vondutch,

It's easiest to do this if you have the Freedom installer rather than Manage/Simulate/Review -- if you do not, you can download Freedom easily enough from the Autodesk site. The official way to do it is run setup.exe like this:
setup.exe /w /t /qb setup.ini /language en-US

That takes care of all the pre-requisites and puts the language pack on too.

Your procedure looks broadly OK to me, however, we do not test or support per-user installs which potentially could occur as you are specifying ALLUSERS="2".
