Rendering - Number of Cores

When rendering / producing animations, how many cores can Navisworks 2014 leverage?  I know that some of the older versions only leveraged 1, is this still the case with 2014?

(I'm trying to determin the advantages/disadvantages of putting together a Virtual Machine for rendering with the software, this answer will help with the proper configuration).

Depends on the Renderer. Presenter and the Viewport renderer will only use one core. The Autodesk renderer will use all the cores you have but is also much more memory hungry.
