Navisworks Won't Open

Hi,

I've spent most of the day trying to fix my copy of Navisworks Manage 2012. When I double click the icon to open the program, a small window pops up saying, "Navisworks has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program." My only choice is to close the program. I have uninstalled/reinstalled Navisworks 3 times today. I have tried deleting all of the AppData files and everything. I am getting the same error message when I try and open Navisworks Freedom 2012 as well.

I am running Windows 7 Enterprise (64-bit). Any help would be much appreciated as I use Navisworks for my job every day. Thanks!

There's a whole list of reasons this may happen. Most of the time we see it, it's driver related. Can you update your graphics card drivers, restart your machine and try again.

If this fails can you also search for the lastsession.xml file on the machine and delete that?

Do you get a request to send an error report to Autodesk? If so can you please send one with your forum username and detail about what you were doing at the time.

I reinstalled all of the graphics drivers and now I get an error message saying "CLR error: 80004005. The program will now terminate." Based on what I have found on-line, this has to do with the .NET framework. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the .NET v4.0 framework and I am still getting the error. If I run the event viewer, I get (2) errors:

1st error: "Application Error" Event ID: 1000

Looking at this, yes it does seem to be related to .NET. Most of the sites seem to suggest there may be a conflict with earlier or beta versions of .NET on the machine.

The suggested options from Microsoft is to run a cleanup utility on the earlier versions of .NET then reinstall 4.0.

The cleanup utility is here: -

And then .NET 4.0 can be downloaded from
