Navisworks Jetstream

Earlier we were using 'Navisworks Review 2009' to convert RVM file (PDMS Review file) into NWD file. In Review-2009 we had an option to save the NWD file compatible with Navisworks-Jetstream (versin 5).

Now we have upgraded our Navisworks to 'Simulkate 2013'. Still few of our senior people are using Navisworks-Jetstream to review the model (as they are adopted much to Jetstream). But in 'Simulate 2013',  no option is available to save the file in 'version-5' (jetstream) format.

Please share, is there any other method available in 'Simulate-2013/2014' to generate the NWD file compatible with 'Jetstream'

As far as I am aware, there is no direct route within NW 2013 to save down that far. Typically the changes in file format that occur over the course of several years mean that it is challenging to keep all information intact when saving back to a file format that is so old, and for some time now, any given version of Navisworks has only saved as far as three versions prior.

If there is only the need to review the model in a read-only fashion, the latest Freedom would be an option to consider. Alternatively, one could use multiple Navisworks versions to step down to the older file format, but as mentioned, there is a chance that information could be lost as older file formats inevitably don't contain all that the new format did.

Hope that helps,

Jeff
