Navisworks Freedom Service Pack 1 bombs out.

Navisworks Freedom SP1, (for Navis Freedom 64 bit), bombs out with no indictation of an issue... just goes away.

I checked installation log... but it looks as though it didn't even get created.

anyone have any ideas?

Is this about installing SP1 or ...?  Check the Freedom install version.  They may have rolled SP1 into the installer at some point.

Yes, it is about installing SP1

Can you elaborate on this?

Run Freedom and check the version.  I recall some others posters having problems like this, and the downloaded installer had the update already applied.  There was another lengthy thread about SP1 problems with IDSP-based deployments which may also apply.

There is no mention of SP either in About dialog, or in  Control Panel > Programs and Features, as being applied already... Typically, if a Service Pack has been applied... running the SP install again would say this in a dialog... 'SP1 has already been applied'... It would not just simply shut down as if a crash had occured.

Yes, it won't say anything about SP-whatever, but the version number will be an indicator. Aside from the IDSP-related issue, its probably time to file a support request and/or move this over to the installation board.
