Navisworks API DevCampDemos

Hi,

Saw a webcast about the Navisworks API and there were some example codes included in the download.

One of those axamples was called the ComponentViewer. This sample was not fully implemented in the download package but the video showed that it had some code that it had some nice code that gives some good information on how to use the Com ApiBridge class.

Is there anyway I can get a copy of the completed code for this sample? Does anyone have a copy the can send me, or is there somewhere I can download a copy?

Many thanks.

Hi kennethmjones,

I am not aware of the ComponentViewer example, but there are some .NET API examples included with the software that demonstrate the use of the ComApiBridge class.  After installing Navisworks Manage 2012, you can find these examples in the following locations:

- C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Manage 2012\api\net\examples\Basic Examples\vb.net\ControlsAndCom

- C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Manage 2012\api\net\examples\Basic Examples\CSharp\ControlsAndCOM

- C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Manage 2012\api\net\examples\Basic Examples\CSharp\APICallsCOMPlugin

For the Navisworks Manage 2011 installation, there is an example here:

 - C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Navisworks Manage 2011\api\net\examples\Controls\ControlsAndCOM

Hello John,

Thank you very much for the reply.

Yes I am aware of the the samples included in the installation. The are very useful but they do not cover all aspects of the the ComApiBridge functionality. In particular the "ComApiBridge.State" objects such as "state.ViewAll()" etc. These particular elements are not well documented and I don't know what functions are lurking there. I do know that I want to use such functions as ViewAll() etc. and I do want to know what is available to be used.

The webcast tutor was a Mr. Michael Priestman, perhaps he can provide copy of that example.

Thanks for you help.

Ken

Hi Lee,

Thany you. Yes that was the webcas that I was refering to. I did download it again looked at the code for the ComponentViewer but as before the useful code that I wanted to see was not in there.

Never mind, I think I will have to give up on finding the sample I am looking for.

Many thanks to both of you for your help on this one.

Ken

How about these? Been chasing this up internally and I think we've got an updated set of demo's as attached.
