AutoCAD Base setting is stored in InsBase system variable. This works quite well to allow us to model at/near World Origin (0,0,0)... and still provide others to XRef in the location they want.... However, NWCout command from AutoCAD Does not honor the BASE setting. The contractor wants only NWC Files.... in Navisoworks they want the model to come in by default to rediculus coordinate. Even when appending a DWG with the Base setting at these coordinates, the model does not come in this way.
x = 1550691'5-15/64"
y = 561616'11-1/32"
z = 100'0
Autodesk support suggested looking into the GeographicLocation functionaltiy, but efforts to make this work, but still allow us to model at 0,0,0 have failed.
Anyone have a solution or a way to deal with this?
Create an NWF file to load the NWC files yourself
Select the file in the selection tree
-> File units and transform: move it the way you want
save the NWF
Save AS NWD
Provide this NWD to the customer instead of the original NWC.
